The biggest thing I learned is that a newsletter is not just an email with information. It is a planned message with a clear goal. When I wrote Newsletter 1, I realized how much the audience controls everything. The same topic can feel interesting or boring depending on who it is written for. I also learned that the subject line matters more than I thought because it decides whether someone even opens the email. If that first impression is weak, the rest of the writing does not get a chance.

Another major takeaway is structure. People skim emails, so short paragraphs, clear spacing, and simple calls to action make a huge difference. I also had to think carefully about tone. It cannot be too stiff, but it also cannot feel sloppy. There is a balance between professional and relatable. Most importantly, I learned that every newsletter needs a clear next step. Whether it is clicking a link or signing up, the ending should guide the reader instead of just fading out.
