I remember a time when I gave someone directions and assumed they understood what I meant. I used words that made sense in my head, but I did not explain the details that actually mattered. They did what they thought I meant, and it was confusing and could have been avoided. When we discussed it, I realized the problem wasn't a lack of effort but rather a lack of clarity. That moment taught me to be more specific and to check understanding before moving on. Now I try to ask quick questions to make sure we are on the same page. I also try to repeat the plan in simple words so there is no guessing. It is a small change, but it saves time and stress. It reminds me that clear communication is a form of respect because it helps people succeed instead of struggling.
