A Time I Learned Something The Hard Way

Earlier in the semester, I thought I could rush through an assignment at the end of the week and still do well. I focused on getting words on the page instead of carefully reviewing the rubric. When I looked back at it, I realized I had missed small but important details. It was frustrating because the ideas were not bad, but the execution was not as strong as it could have been.
That experience taught me that preparation and polish matter just as much as creativity. Now I try to review assignments with intention. I check formatting, clarity, grammar, and whether I answered every part of the instructions. Slowing down at the end has improved my confidence in what I submit. It also helps me feel more in control instead of hoping I did everything right.
